The Monstera, also known as the Swiss cheese plant , is beloved for its large, glossy leaves with natural indentations that instantly create a botanical look. The Monstera is not only decorative but also durable and easy to care for. Its air-purifying properties contribute to a healthier indoor climate and a calming atmosphere at home or in the office.

Care and placement:

The Monstera Deliciosa prefers a bright spot with indirect sunlight, but can also tolerate partial shade. Keep the potting soil slightly moist by watering it regularly, but avoid standing water at the bottom of the pot. During the growing season (spring and summer), you can add some plant food monthly to promote healthy growth and glossy leaves.

Watering : Water the plant moderately. The soil should remain slightly moist, but not too wet to prevent root rot. Allow the top layer of potting mix to dry out before watering again. Sticking your finger into the soil is a good way to check.

Humidity : The Monstera prefers moderate to high humidity, similar to its natural tropical environment. You can regularly mist the leaves with a plant sprayer to increase humidity.

Feeding : Feed the plant with green plant food approximately once a month during the growing season (March to October). Never overfeed, as this can damage the roots.

Pruning : Pruning is usually only necessary if a leaf is damaged or dead. You can cut a leaf as close to the stem as possible with a sharp, clean knife or shears. If the plant grows too large, you can cut off the excess stem; this will encourage a new shoot to develop. Aerial roots can also be pruned if they become too long.
