This unique species is known for its explosive blooms: a spherical flower up to 30 cm across with star-shaped florets that protrude at varying lengths – like a slow-motion fireworks display in your border.

At 40–50 cm tall, Allium schubertii is ideal as a standalone plant or in small groups among perennials. Its flowers appear in May and June, creating a unique accent in sunny borders or rockeries. Even after flowering, this ornamental onion remains an eye-catcher, as the spent flower clusters dry beautifully, making them ideal as dried flowers in bouquets or as decorative pieces.
